Some more testing done with AC 8260 in Lenovo P50 and different APs.ĪC 8260 with newest driver (19.20.3.4) in use: Intel AC 8260 is propably worst network card ever, avoid! Nobody should buy it, everyone should avoid anything containing it until Intel fixes problems. I always thought the idea on n- and ac-hardware was that it's supposed to be faster than a- or g-standard! Other solution they suggest is 'Disable Bluetooth' :devious: That means, disable 802.11n and ac-speeds and use max 54mbit. Solutions suggested by Intel are ridiculous: Disable HT and VHT mode. Intel doesn't seem to care about this problem with 8260, they deny having any problems with hardware or software and claim that problem is with accespoints, even still that same problem exist with all accesspoints, be it Cisco, Aruba, HP, Netgear, D-link, Linksys, TP-Link, whatever. Cheap Realteks works much better, not to mention Broadcomm.

Intel used to mean working network on wired Ethernet, but for WLAN-cards, it's nowadays synonym for broken things.

To make things even worse, 8260 is only whitelisted network card in Lenovo P50, so it's impossible to change that stupid card, because everything else is blocked in UEFI. The newer driver you update, the worse problems will get. All other hardrware using same WLAN AP works perfectly well. Have tried about every possible driver version and AP config is correct, WMM mode, a-mpdu etc. Google can find lot of horror stories with newer Intel WLAN-cards, but no solutions. However, it seems that it doesn't matter whatever accesspoint you use, 8260 just doesn't work at all, or it works terribly. I'm having nothing but problems with AC-8260, using Cisco 1262 AP. Does anyone know, what brand WLAN accesspoints actually and IRL would work with Intel AC-8260 WLAN card?
